Education

Kochnev Vladimir Alexeevich is an expert in the field of prospecting geophysics (mainly in seismic prospecting). In 1958 he graduated from the Geophysical Department of Sverdlovsk Institute of Mines. His speciality was «Geophysical methods of search and prospecting of mineral deposits», his qualification — «Mining Engineer, Geophysicist». Vladimir Alexeevich took the Candidate's degree in Geology and Mineralogy in 1973, and the Doctor's degree in Technical Sciences in 1990.

The thesis for the Candidate's degree: «Algorithms of separation and tracing of seismic waves with adaptation» (1973);

The thesis for the Doctor's degree: «Adaptive methods of tracing of seismic waves and estimation of parameters of the environment» (1989).

In 1958 — 1959 on graduating from the institute he worked as an assistant operator in the field seismic systems, and as an operator and a head of the group in Middle Ob complex geophysical expedition (Kolpashevo) of Novosibirsk Geophysical Trust.

In 1960 in January 1 he was transferred to Surgut oil-prospecting expedition of Tyumen territorial geological department.

Professional activity

In January 1960-February 1966 he was a head and a senior geophysicist of the field, experimental and methodical groups of Surgut oil-prospecting expedition of Tyumen territorial geological department. Vladimir Alexeevich participated in the discovery of Lokosovsky, Megionsky, Vatinsky, North-pokursky, Ostrovsky and Vakhsky deposits of oil.

In 1966–1968 he was a technical head of the sea shallow seismic group on Cuba, which carried out the field works on the northern shelf around Kayo Eskivel island.

In 1968–1973 — a senior geophysicist and a head of Tyumen geological department of experimental and methodical groups on exploration and intrusion for processing of the seismic data by means of a computer.

In 1973–1976 Ministry of Geology of the USSR appointed him a technical head of the centre of processing of the seismic data on Cuba.

In 1976–1982 — a head of the sector at West-siberian Research Institute of Geophysics and a head of the thematic group in WSibRGIM (Tyumen).

Since 1982 he has been a chief researcher and a head of the department at Computational Center of Siberian Branch AS.

The adaptive method of the solution of systems of linear equations is developed during his scientific work. Due to the fact that this method does not accumulate mistakes of the rounding and flexibly takes into account the a priori data, it can be used for the solution of complex inverse problems of geophysics reducing to the solution of algebraic systems with a plenty of the unknown and a great number of the data of unequal accuracy. This approach is used for the solution of complex kinematic and dynamic problems of seismic prospecting, and also for the solution of two-demensional and three-dimensional problems of gravimetry and magnetometry. The methods of the solution are reduced to the packages used for industrial, research and educational purposes.
