The department was formed in 2001 to provide theoretical and applied works in computational hydrodynamics.
Main directions of research:
- numerical modeling of hydrophysical processes in rivers and channels (supervisor Doctor of Science in Phys. and Math., Professor V. M. Belolipetsky);
- development of the method of particles for the study of viscous flows with surface tension (supervisor Doctor of Science in Phys. and Math., Professor A. M. Frank);
- numerical modeling of data geomonitoring for the study of sea natural disasters (supervisor Doctor of Technical Science K. V. Simonov).
