About the department

The Department of the Regional Scientific and Educational Mathematical Center «Krasnoyarsk Mathematical Center» was established in the IVM SB RAS by order of the FITC KNC SB RAS No. 60-shr dated May 25, 2020 as part of the formation of the regional scientific and educational mathematical center «Krasnoyarsk Mathematical Center» (hereinafter — CMC). The creation of the CMC became possible thanks to the victory in the competition held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for the creation and development of regional scientific and educational mathematical centers. Currently, the CMC operates on the basis of two organizations:

• Federal Research Center «Krasnoyarsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences»;
• Siberian Federal University.

The Siberian Federal University (hereinafter referred to as SFU) has organized a structural unit of the Institute of Mathematics and Fundamental Informatics — RNOMC «Krasnoyarsk Mathematical Center». The head of the Krasnoyarsk Mathematical Center is a Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Head of the Department of Theory of Functions of the Siberian Federal University August Karlovich Tsikh.

The purpose of the activity of the CMC is to ensure the development of scientific research and training of specialists in the field of mathematics and its applications, as the basis for implementing the priorities of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation, achieving advanced positions in world mathematical education.

Tasks Krasnoyarsk Mathematical Center:

• increasing the number and quality of scientific publications;
• development of scientific schools and expansion of regional and international collaborations;
• improvement and creation of new educational modules;
• conducting scientific and educational events: conferences, seminars, master classes with the participation of schoolchildren, students, undergraduates and postgraduates;
• advanced training of teachers of mathematics and the level of mathematical education in general in the East Siberian region.
