The scientific direction of Sadovskaya's researches is mathematical modeling of the dynamic contact interaction of deformable bodies with a preunknown zone of the contact. On the basis of formulation of the boundary conditions of the contact in view of friction in the form of quasivariational inequalities she has developed the iterative algorithms that take into account geometrical and dynamic restrictions in the contact zone. By means of these algorithms the original numerical results of the research of chip forming mechanism at processing of a metal blank by a rigid wedge tool have been received. Also the results confirming the mechanical hypothesis of waveformation at a slanting impact of the plates have been received. O. V. Sadovskaya has participated in the execution of six scientific projects, including four projects maintained by Russian Fund of Fundamental Reserches. She has also received grants from Krasnoyarsk Regional Fund of Science. In 2002 she defended the thesis for a Candidate's degree «Numerical modeling of the dynamic contact interaction of elastoplastic bodies».
