CARRIER SUMMARY

In 1971 Alexander Vasil'evich graduated from Frunze Polytechnical Institute. In 1971–1973 he served as a commander of the platoon, company in the Soviet Army.

Since 1973 he has been engaged in scientific work working at Institute of Automatics AS Kirghiz SSR. Since 1975 he's been working at Institute of Computational Modeling SB RAS as an associate researcher, a head of the research group, a senior researcher, a head of the laboratory and a chief researcher.

In 1979–1990 he worked as a scientific secretary of the complex program «Noble and rare metals, nickel and copper of Krasnoyarsk Region» (superprogram «Siberia»).

Lapko is included in Federal register of experts of scientific and technical sphere of Ministry of Industry, Science and Technologies of Russian Federation.

Scientific interests: non-parametrical statistics, recognition of images, statistical methods of modeling and optimization of uncertain systems, theory of decision making, automated systems of processing of information.

A. V. Lapko has run four grants of RFFR, one grant of RSSF, five grants of Ministry of Education of Russia and a project of Federal target program «Integration».
