Curriculum vitae

Alexei Nikolaevich Rogalev's research focused on one of the key areas of modern applied mathematics: the study of solution sets of differential equations in the presence of uncertainty, perturbations and control actions. Over many years, he consistently developed methods for guaranteed estimation of solutions, investigated issues of practical stability, attainability and safety of dynamic systems, and devised symbolic-numerical algorithms enabling the effective solution of complex problems in computational mathematics and control theory.

Starting with his early works on guaranteed estimates of solutions to differential equations and interval methods, he gradually established his own field of research interests centred on the development of reliable computational methods for the study of dynamic systems. In recent years, this research has been further developed in his work on the regularisation of estimates of solution sets, symbolic methods and the stability analysis of controlled systems. The methods he developed were geared towards solving problems arising in the study of the reliability and safety of technical systems, reachability analysis, the assessment of permissible operating modes and the modelling of complex dynamic processes.

His areas of interest included issues relating to the accuracy and stability of solutions in problems concerning the determination of the stress-strain state of structural elements.

Particular mention should be made of the field of informatisation and digitalisation in various areas of social and technological activity. Together with T. V. Sakhnova, Doctor of Law, he proposed a conceptual approach to the possibility of machine-based solutions and logical modelling of specific legal problems in civil proceedings. A number of results were obtained regarding the use of geoinformation systems in criminology.

A. N. Rogalev has developed and delivered dozens of courses at various higher education institutions in Krasnoyarsk (Krasnoyarsk State University, Krasnoyarsk State Technical University, Krasnoyarsk State Academy of Architecture and Construction, Northern Federal University), covering the fields of applied mathematics, software engineering and information technology.

Alexey Nikolaevich has been awarded various honours (letters of appreciation, certificates of honour, commemorative medals) for his many years of fruitful work in the fields of education and science.
