Sadovsky's basic scientific reserches are devoted to the development of numerical methods of the solution of problems of the mechanics of elastoplastic bodies. On the basis of the use of non-classical formulations of mathematical models in the form of variational inequalities he has managed to advance essentially in the study of generalized solutions of dynamic problems of the theory of plasticity. He has developed new models and algorithms for the numerical solution of problems of the dynamics of loose bodies in view of the formation of breaks of continuousness. Up to the year 2002 V. M. Sadovsky has been running seven grants, including four grants maintained by RFFR. In the field of applied researches he has been a responsible executor and a head of scientific and technical projects on the development of applied software designed for the numerical modeling of impulse deformation of elastoplastic materials and for optimal temperature control of radioelectronic equipment of space vehicles of nonhermetic construction.
